The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) is dedicated to providing meaningful and cost effective security training for security guards and protection officers. We believe that education is a necessary and essential part of professional security training and the security officer’s background. IFPO serves individuals, security companies, and organizations that have their own private security staff. Our students and members benefit from the recognition and standing that the prestigious IFPO certification conveys.

Proctor Information
Program candidates must identify and secure a qualified individual to serve as an exam Proctor. The Exam Proctor will oversee the examination process ensuring the highest level of integrity and honesty is maintained throughout this process.

For proctors, it is vitally important that we take all possible steps to preserve the integrity of the IFPO programs. Your co-operation and assistance is greatly appreciated and your contribution will further enhance security professionalism.
Retesting
We encourage all of our students to retake their examination. Unfortunately we are not all successful in our first attempt. Many factors can influence our results. Gain your confidence back and perhaps commit to more test preparation, rest, and suitable testing environment.
Recertification Guidelines
The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) Recertification Program is designed to sustain the highest standards of ethical and professional practices among protection officers, security supervisors and instructors.
ASIS Recertification Credits
ASIS International awards re-certification credits for successful completion of the following IFPO programs:
- Certified Protection Officer (CPO)
- Certified In Security Supervision And Management Program (CSSM)
*It is not MANDATORY that an instructor be a CPOI prior to delivering the CPO program. It is recommended, as it adds to the credibility but is not essential. Please contact ASIS directly for the specific number of credits awarded.
