Today, Sept. 11, 2022, we remember the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 in New York City, the Pentagon and Flight 93 in Pennsylvania that resulted in the loss of thousands of innocent lives.
We remember the unsuspecting civilians, going about their day just prior to the attacks, whose lives were violently upended and many ultimately ended.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs and others who risked their lives responding to the attacks.
We remember the passenger revolt on Flight 93, which no doubt prevented the terrorist hijackers from flying the plane into another government building.
We remember the families of those who died that day who continue to suffer the tragic after-affects to this day.
We will never forget.
