IFPO Approved Training Partner Program

The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) recognizes the need to provide quality educational opportunities for security personnel. We firmly believe that the delivery method and learning experience for students should contribute to their professional development.

Approved Training Partners (ATPs) are organizations endorsed by the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) to conduct in-person and synchronous courses.

As leaders in security education and developers of the competency model for security officers and patrol services for the U.S. Department of Labor, we have the capability and expertise to review and analyze various programs, ensuring they align with IFPO’s high standards.

Being designated as an Approved Training Partner (ATP) by IFPO is a recognition of quality in security training. The endorsement of an independent organization for the programs offered to the industry, developed by your organization, adds value to both the institute and the students.

An IFPO-ATP Review Committee has been established to carefully review your application, ensuring it meets the following requirements through a supporting document:

Requirements to Implement IFPO Programs:

  • Possess legal permits to conduct training if training external clients. This requirement is not necessary for internal training of your own personnel.

  • Be a certified CPOI instructor.

  • Adhere to the curriculum provided by IFPO.

  • Have adequate infrastructure for the training modality (classroom capacity relative to the number of students for in-person components).

  • Follow IFPO evaluation protocols.

  • Ensure there are qualified supervisors to administer certification exams.

CONTRIBUTIONS FROM IFPO:

  • Marketing guidelines identifying the center as an ATP and the Program as officially recognized by IFPO.

  • We provide competency profiles and curriculum plans.

  • We provide lesson plans and basic PowerPoint presentations to certified CPOI instructors.

  • Each participant receives a certification kit.

  • The kit includes a digital manual and a slot for taking the exam.

  • We administer all certification exams.

  • We issue all certificates in digital format.

CRITERIA FOR PROGRAM ACCREDITATION REVIEW:

  • Facility infrastructure (classroom capacity relative to students).

  • Competency profile and curriculum plan.

  • Program frequency.

  • Information on program development and delivery

  • Program duration.

  • Approximate enrollment.

  • Student experience.

  • Instructor qualifications.

  • Program identification.

  • Program history.

  • Comprehensive program details.

  • Covered topics.

  • Curriculum sample(s) for review.

  • Program assessment sample(s) for review.

  • Curriculum adherence methods.

  • Curriculum delivery methods.

  • Availability of lesson plans and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Questionnaire and assessment administration.

  • Examination supervision qualifications.

  • Evaluation protocols.

  • Certificate samples.

  • Job placement (if applicable).

Upon successful review the IFPO – ATP will be awarded the digital credentials. Frameable certificates and wall plaques may be purchased at cost. An exclusive listing at the IFPO website. IFPO will utilize the various social media platforms to announce the success of this review. IFPO will also on request of the IFPO – ATP make additional announcements via the various social media platforms.

Two Year Review Fee | $350.00

*A two year review will be required. This will be conducted through an application process. Items that will be required:
