That is precisely why the the International Foundation for Protection Officers designed the Initial Security Officer Program (ISOP).
The ISOP provides online training to help improve the knowledge and performance of private security officers part of an initial training program. The training is designed to assist security agencies and officers to meet many of the published private security officer training guideline recommendations.
Major knowledge areas include:
-- Nature and Role of Private Security Officers
-- Observation and Incident Reporting
-- Principles of Communication
-- Access Control
-- Safeguarding Information
-- Emergency Response Procedures
-- Life Safety Awareness
-- Workplace Violence
Candidates can expect to complete the online training in approximately 14 -18 hours. In order to receive the final certificate of completion and associated continuing education units, the candidate must complete all learning topics, section tests, and a comprehensive final examination with a score of 70% or greater.
