Security Supervision and Management Program

Unique and flexible, the SSMP distance learning course is designed to meet the needs of the security supervisor/manager security officer.
Candidates accepted into the program must successfully complete an unsupervised midterm examination and a proctored final examination. To earn the program completion certificate, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% on both examinations.
 
Please note the following:
  • Prerequisites for the SSMP: None
  • The SSMP is a prerequisite for the Certified in Security Supervision Management Program (CSSM). After successful completion of the SSMP, candidates can apply for acceptance into the official CSSM certification program.
  • The IFPO’s SSMP qualifies for recertification credits for the ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) program.
 
The SSMP course text is "Security Supervision: Theory and Practice of Asset Protection," published by Butterworth-Heinemann. The text was the result of an alliance between the IFPO, the publisher, and more than 40 of the industry’s leading security supervisors, authors, educators and consultants. It will serve not only as an excellent source of information for the course, but as a valuable reference book for years to come.
